Clay Modelling Workshop
Through the earthy nature of clay we can explore the body, and use composition, accuracy and form, to express tangible emotion and thought. Perhaps, through clay we touch the nature of the soul. Certainly the only qualification you need is a passion for art and a wish to explore the medium.
Everything was set, the weather was exactly right to get down and get your hands and clothes dirty.
Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics, Saltlake organised a workshop on Clay Modelling where Mr. Suman Mondal shared his skills on clay modelling. He guided the students and faculties on maintaining a good consistency of the clay using water and moulding the clay to form shapes. He exhibited very simple techniques to make a face from clay. He also described how to use regular tools to make a clay model look better. Mr. Suman feels that such exercises are a stress buster and stimulates our brain cells. Therefore, creativity shall be explored at every step of life. Later, all the participants joined the imaginative exercise and designed sculptures of various types.
